Fields on the riverside

Traveling down the Cetina river stream, you'll find an abundance of scenic natural topography. The landscape consists mostly of flat karst fields situated near the river and surrounded by mountains and hills, ranging from the Dinara massif and Kamešnica mountain down to Svilaja and Mosor at the mouth of the river.

Historically, as a consequence of being on the riverside, the surrounding land was fertile and predisposed to farming and agricultural endeavours. Naturally, a number of large fields have been situated here for centuries, following the river stream, with the most prominent among them being Vrlika Field, Hrvace Field and Sinj Field. The last is the biggest among them and the largest in the Zagora area in general, stretching over 64 km². These karst fields have evidently been in use since prehistoric times, as remains dating back to the Neolithic period have been found in the area.

They are also a sight to behold if you find yourself driving through these parts. Look out into the wide-open space enclosed by the blue silhouettes of the surrounding mountains, get some snacks—which you've hopefully had the forethought to bring—and enjoy the passing moment.
