What to bring

Whether you're going on a kayaking trip, a simple walk through nature, a ride on a quad or a more challenging hike up a mountain, it's always best to think ahead. It's easy to underestimate the importance of being prepared, luckily we're here to offer you some advice on what to bring and how to get ready for a day trip in the Dalmatian countryside.

To make it simple, here is a short list:

Water. A bottle of water might seem too obvious to mention; hence it is the first item on the list. Make sure to keep hydrated, by now you've heard it a thousand times, however it really is as important as everyone says. As a general rule it's also smarter to bring more rather than less than you think you need.

Sunblock. One of the more charming qualities of Dalmatia is the sunny and fair weather, however, during the summer the sun can be unforgiving. You might not notice you got sunburnt until you get to a mirror and realize you look more like a tomato than you used to. You should bring some sun protection, it's good practice even in the winter.

The right clothes. As we've mentioned, it gets quite hot in the summer so the clothes you bring will get sweaty. It's best to stick to light breathable materials. Hats would be a wise choice, as well as sunglasses and comfortable shoes. If you plan on going swimming don’t forget to bring your swimwear and towel. If, however, you don’t plan on swimming, but are going kayaking or a similar water-based adventure, a change of clothes is a good idea.

Snacks. For any day-long activity in nature, it would be useful to have some backup food. Ideally you should make sure it’s an easily portable, manageable snack like an energy bar. You never know how exhausting the day may get and a sugar boost might be just the thing to revive you.
