Wildlife and vegetation along the river

If you have ever been to Croatia, you may have heard the well-known slogan claiming that it is full of life—and we mean that in more ways than just city nightlife. Take the opportunity to explore beyond the large Dalmatian cities and you will understand exactly what ‘full of life’ means.
We are, of course, talking about the rich flora and fauna found along the Cetina. Plant life thrives close to the river, with lush green vegetation that is both picturesque and untamed, while at higher elevations it becomes noticeably sparser and the landscape generally much drier. Keep an eye out for flowers and the many traditional medicinal plants scattered around. Sheltered in this splendid green environment, a great variety of animals can also be found. The water is full of freshwater fish, some endemic to the region, and the ever-present sound of birdsong means you never feel alone. Be careful when venturing deep into the wilderness, however, because some snakes also enjoy the river's damp, invigorating environment.
The land around the Cetina is abundant in wildlife and plant life alike. As you set out on an adventure and explore the surrounding nature, remember to keep your eyes and ears open for the local creatures that call this place home.
